BARN HOUSE DESIGN

BARN HOUSE DESIGN INSPIRATION

Barn house style design is a unique and charming architectural style that combines the rustic appeal of a traditional barn with the comfort and functionality of a modern home. This design style is characterized by its open and spacious floor plans, high ceilings, and a blend of natural materials and textures.

The exterior of a barn house style design often features a steeply pitched roof, typically with a gable design. The use of natural materials such as pine and cedar,  stone accents, and metal roofing adds to the natural elements of the home. Large windows and sliding barn doors are common features that not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also allow for ample natural light and easy access to outdoor spaces.

Inside, barn house style designs typically feature open and airy layouts, with expansive living areas that flow seamlessly into each other. The high ceilings create a sense of spaciousness, while exposed beams and trusses add to the rustic character of the home. The use of exposed wood or brick, and other natural materials further enhances the warm and inviting atmosphere.

The kitchen in a barn house style design is often the heart of the home. Choose a more traditional fit for your home with the large central island and farmhouse sink, or modernise the design with a more classic take on the traditional barn house design.

Outdoor spaces are an important aspect of barn house style designs, with covered decks that provide additional living and outdoor entertaining areas.  These outdoor spaces are often designed to seamlessly blend with the natural surroundings, creating a harmonious connection between the home and its environment.
