Our approach to being sustainable comes from the long term benefits for all involved. Buildings account for 45% of all energy output so it is a natural place to apply environmentally friendly solutions.
Our designs incorporate sustainable features which meet the NZ Green building council standards. Such as; capturing natural sun light to collect and disperse heat, using double glazed joinery, natural ventilation, LED lights, waste management systems and much more. There are no limits and the amount of sustainable features varies for each client.
Off the grid
Going "off-grid" is becoming an increasingly popular choice for people looking to reduce their carbon footprint. It refers to not being connected to the main electrical grid and instead electricity can be a stand-alone power system. A true 'off the grid' home does not rely on municipal water supply, sewer, natural gas or similar services.
We aren't afraid of challenging sites. From poor access and steep slopes, to complex designs our team has the expertise to find the solution. Every site offers its own constraints and possibilities. From day one we work to get the best and most cost effective result.
Remove and Re-build
Should we renovate or remove and re-build? The team at The House Company have the knowledge to look at major projects such as subdivisions and removal of existing dwellings and re-building. We can evaluate the project to help you make the decision.
