We build new homes as well as additions and alterations.
What is an Independent Home Builders Guarantee?
This guarantee offers you complete security in three key areas:
Completion Cover - you are covered either for loss of the deposit if the building hasn't started, or for non-completion if the house or work isn't finished.
Builder's Cover - you are protected against any defects in workmanship and materials, or structural elements for 2 years after completion of the building.
Limited Structural Cover - as an added measure, an Independent Home Builders guarantee cover you for defects in specific structural elements of the building work for 5 years after expiry of the builder's cover.

Do you have a showhome?
Yes. We currently have 4 display homes (Warkworth, Omaha, Whangarei and Kerikeri). Like most of our homes, our showhomes have all been custom designed.

How much a square meter do you build for?
It all depends on design, your block of land, the level of inclusions, the materials used and the quality of construction. Only then can a true square meter rate be calculated.
Do you have plans and price lists?
We have many designs available for you to peruse through. These homes have been designed as 'one offs' to suit your wish list and budget.

Do you build on sloping or difficult sites?
Yes we do. In fact, our Company is known for how we design and build on these types of sites.
What materials do you use?
Our homes are constructed from various types of materials such as weatherboard, Shadowclad, Onduline and Rockcoat. Other clients prefer brick and tile. Whatever your taste, all of our homes are designed to take advantage of the New Zealand climate.
What energy efficiency measures does The House Company adopt?
All of our homes are designed to save you money on your energy bills. We have a number of recommended power and money saving options.
How do you work?
We are a 'one stop shop' with a selection of skilled architects, designers, engineers, interior decorators, estimators and builders all combined to meet your needs. Making sure your building experience is always under the control of a team of people totally committed to you and your investment.
How long does it take to build?
This will depend on your requirements and the size of your home. However, your Home Consultant will be able to give you a guide.
